What are the emergency evacuation and ambulance services?
All Bestmed members can make use of this benefit. This benefit includes transportation of people with an emergency medical condition to the closest healthcare provider or facility under circumstances where they can’t get to such a service point in any other way. These services are contracted from ER24.
How does the process work in obtaining authorisation for this benefit?
Members must call the ER24 authorisation call centre directly. The number is printed on the membership card (084 124). By dialling this number, members will be guided and assisted in their request for evacuation and ambulance services.
